Division: RoRo

Description of the role:

Responsible for Sales within a given Area/Product Line. Participate in development of MacGregor RoRo customer value proposition.

Responsible for assigned Sales Area/Product Line by actively maintaining existing customer relations with shipyards, port and terminal, ship owners and design consultants and actively establish new ones.

File customer enquiries in ROR Sales database and evaluate the enquiries

Plan, lead each tender and assure that the customers get response according to their needs.

Responsible together with Sales Project Manager for the correct technical solution and that the correct cost and scope of supply are chosen for each specific tender.

Responsible together with the Director Sales and Marketing/Director Conversion Division Unit that the quoted prices are correct and in accordance with the Sales Budget or strategic goals.

All necessary correspondence/communications to customer regarding commercial issues

Responsible of preparation of quotations and to send tender material to customer

Commercial negotiation with customers incl. price, payment terms and other terms

Lead Pre Contract Phase and to hold pre contract reviews, start up meeting and distribution of available tender material to each department. Ref. to Q080

Participate actively in the preparation and realisation of the Sales Budget of assigned Sales Area/Product Line including proposal of marketing activities

Participate in symposiums, conferences and exhibitions as necessary within assigned Area/Product Line.

Responsible for keeping an updated customer address and contact database in assigned Areas

Responsible for keep ship type reference lists updated

Plan marketing activities in assigned areas

Sales support activities :

Participate in weekly department sales meeting and keep SAP Sales Tool continously updated

Assist Contract Manager in customer contacts and special negotiations when so required.

Communication between different departments/stakeholders

Support people from other divisions/business lines within MacGregor with product knowledge and customer contacts when so required.

Discussions with sales agents worldwide

Customers and / or interest groups:

External: Shipyards, RoRo Port terminals/operators, ship owners and marine design consultants

Partners in cooperation and networks:

Internal: Sales Department and other stakeholders within RoRo Division



Four year university degree in Mechanics, Electricity or other technical area, Master Degree preferred;

Product related expertise, Ship Building, Port, Cargo Handling technologies, RoRo Ship Market Knowledge is preferred;

Sales and Negotiation skills, strong sense customer care;

8+ years in the similar position, shipbuilding, ship equipment and RORO preferred;

Very excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills;

Project leading techniques, Organisation/Planning skills;

International Trade regulations;

CAD viewer;

Very good English, both written and speaking;
